Hard drivers can develop problems.sometimes files are’t
stored in the appropriate cluster or disk space .
Sometimes
file names don’t match up with the folders in which they’re stored.
To check for and fix any errors,you can use scandisk,a program included with windows 98.
Double-click the MY COMPUTER icon to display the contents of your computer.
Right-click the disk you want to check.
Select properties from the shortcut menu that appears.
Click the tools tab.this ab includes programs you can
use to manage and optimize your disk drive.
Click the check now button.windows
displays the
scandisk dialog box.
Click the
start button to start checking the drive.windows checks your drive.if it finds
any errors,it display a dialog box that explains the errors and gives you
options for repairing the errors,deleting the file,or ignoring the error.
Select a
correction method for each problem,then click OK.
When scandisk complete,you see a summary of its findings.
Review this
imformation and then click the close button.
